Nevada Gaming Revenues Up 15%
The month of February provided a pleasant surprise for the state of Nevada that noted a record increase in revenues from gaming; it was up 15% based on last year's figures for the same month. There are many explanations for this increase in revenue but one of the most logical is the time of year that the Chinese New Year fell, where more players enjoy the games and those players are enjoying more and more games of Baccarat. The largest gain was on the Las Vegas strip but all over the State there were noted increases in the revenues gained by the casinos leading to $62 million in taxes being earned by the Nevada government from gaming.
