AGA is Open to the Legalization of Internet Gambling
After many years of debate and an independent study by the National Research Council, the AGA supports the legalization of internet gambling. With appropriate regulations in place to protect the online consumer and because technology has made significant inroads to regulate this billion dollar industry, the AGA now feels it can play a major role in the advancement of legalizing online gambling. Even with the UIGEA Law, the AGA estimated that US players wagered more than $5 billion online and more than $21 billion globally. Although the AGA does not currently support any one specific piece of legislation, they are nonetheless open to any and all discussion concerning the legalization of internet gambling.
